Probably the most notable example is of an elusive human-like hominid nicknamed Bigfoot that is said to inhabit forests or mountains.

In Himalayan folklore, the Yeti, better known as the Abominable Snowman, is a mysterious bipedal creature said to live in the mountains of Asia.
